Default Magnamouth opinions?

Well I just installed a cam, Kooks LT headers & ORY onto my current Loudmouth1 set-up. While I LOVE the sound at idle & WOT, the rasp while just cruisin' around is too much to take.

My question is, if I install a Magnaflow bullet muffler to my system, is it going to be enough to take that rasp away or should I just get a whole new cat-back system?

Any comments are appriciated!

Shay

it should take the rasp away....if you still want somewhat loud while retaining the deep tone, why not go with the lm2??? mines great....screams at wot, but isnt obnoxiously loud at low rpms.....just my .02

My friend had cam, headers, ORY, and LM1, and I agree with you.. I did NOT like the way it sound...

Have you gone to www.ls1sounds.com yet to listen to all the difference kinds? I really like Dynomax Bullets..but I'm biased.

I have Borla-Mouth, 100% better with the XR1. Not sure how Dynomax sounds with Loudmouth. But the Borla reduces the rasp ALOT!

Peace,
Craig.

Maybe this will help you make your decision. I put a xr1 muffler on my lm2 2 weeks ago cause the rasp was horrible and now the sounds is perfect.

That should sell it right there! Sweeeeet freaking ride you have there, and sounds great!

So even LM2 < Borla XR1! Nice!

Thanks for the responses guys! Does the Borla XR1 fit right in place of the LM resonator? I thought I read somewhere that it was shorter & you had to add in some pipe.

Actually the xr1 is longer and you have to get it welded in. I forgot how big it is but it is a lot bigger than the resonator.

Well, I ended up going with the Magnaflow & I'm pretty happy with the way it sound. From 2600-2900 RPM, I still have a little rasp, but atleast I can shift around that now if I want too. It still sounds great at idle & WOT too. I'll post up a few clips as soon as I can.

Will the borla muffler drastically quiet down the LM1 setup? Cam only my car sounds ridiculasly Loud! I'm sure my neighbors will be knocking on or knocking down my door if I dont do something soon!
