Autometer Tach install problems!
Autometer Tach install problems! So tonight we wired up my autometer tach, everything went fine, and then we fired it up, the tach showed about 2k rpm when the motor was at 1k, then I remembered the tach had to be in 4cyl mode, so we snipped the brown and orange wires like the instructions said for 4cyl, and then fire it back up and nothing. The needle just stays where the shift point is set at. I have no idea why its doing it, it worked fine before we switched it to 4cyl. Anyone have any ideas? Please let me know. Thanks!
Have you checked all the wiring just in case something came loose while it was running the first time? Also, if you left the wiring kinda loose during the install to make sure everything was connected good you might check that also. That happened to me when I installed mine. I have a 98 so my wiring is a little different than what yours is as far as pins on the computer and couldn't tell you if you might be on the wrong one or not.
