Check your local Oreilly Auto Parts for a new alternator. There brand new alternators are very high quality. They only have a $5 core charge so I just paid the $5 and kept my old one. I wish someone would come out with a cheaper electric water pump. I'd like to have one.

If you want to cry about how much money you don't have, do it somewhere else.

That being said, I personally like my EWP from a looks and function standpoint. It stays much cooler just idling around in traffic.

So EWP do sound pretty damn costly for me at the moment, probably if I go FI on my 402, then Id get one..

maybe I will buy a an alternator as well. might as well, since all new parts,,,

All I meant is that if I was looking to spend 650 bucks on something for my car it would be on something that gave me a little more than 10hp. Now, if you havent broken ground on a racecar that you're building and you can work it into the budget, then yes, its a nice piece to have. You can keep the temp down when you're waiting to get another pass.

Looking back at my LT1 days I wouldnt have paid $650 for a waterpump. Hell no. Not for what I got. It would take years to pay that off in saved gasoline. But, it wasnt a racecar by anymeans. It cost $10 more than the waterpump at Advance with my employee discount, so I said what the hell.

BTW, they come with a 2 year waranty on defects only... and in my line of work that means your screwed when it wears out.
