anyone have problems running the short belt mod??
anyone have problems running the short belt mod?? wanted to use the shortbelt at the track saturday....i installed it at the track and it seemed to run straight and fit tightly...somtime during my burnout it came off....officials never said a word let me run any way....car overheated blah blah......
i tried it again today installed the belt done 2 nhra burnouts in my driveway and it stayed on...put the car in park done a rev and it flew off....
i used the 5060525 belt 52.5" on a stock pulley,removed the trans line clips as well
anyone experience this

ehh i figured it out.....if anyone does this mod
with stock crank pulley use a gates 5060525 belt 52.5" long
i had read that the lower alternator bolt needed modified or removed...i removed mine not knowing 1 of the other 2 bolts was missing"rear bolt"
i reinstalled the lower bolt without the trans cooler line clips.....had to grind some off the head of the bolt to clear belt.....
thought id share cause there aint alot on the subject when one searches.....
