Default Choice of Headers

I have a 2000 SS and thinking of getting LT's. I have heard Pacesetter is a good brand of header and has good ground clearance. Anyone have anything good of bad to say about pacesetter or is there another brand to go for. Also thinking about getting SLP Loudmouth exhaust with it. I have flows with a cutout now which sounds ok but wouldn't the LM1 give me more HP?

Pacesetter is a good value for the money. Just keep in mind LT's with LM1 is going to be really loud.

I almost bought pacesetters until I asked around a little. They don't always fit very well and they rust from the inside out because of the coating. I live in an area where it snows and road salt is everywhere. I went with American Racing Headers, do a search on them, everyone who has them loves them. They are more expensive but its a job I only want to do once. No K member cutting or issues with rattling is worth the money to me.

Call Race Proven Motorsports and ask for Fran, thats who helped me.

If you have the money, get Kooks headers.

I've heard good and bad things about Pacesetter. I have hooker and haven't had any problems with them. I heard Hooker was hard to put in, but they were already on the car when I got so thats one reason I'm not complaining lol

I have pacesetters and so far they'r great. They fit perfectly, the only downside to them is the gaskets are copper but you can pick up a new gasket for 30 from gm and be done with that problem. As for ory and lm1s, not my favorite thing as of right now but its going to be a bit before i get tired of the extreme loud then I'll be switching to a pro flow muffler.

my pacesetters went in with no trouble at all. But you do get what you pay for. You short on cash or dont want to spend an arm and a leg on headers; pacesetters are the way to go.

i just got my pace setters in but i have to put my clutch in first cause i smoked it, reason going with them is that you hear alot of good about them and the fact that i dont drive mine in the snow or rain and its garage kept means they wont rust as fast

Pacesetter makes a good cheap header...but it is just that..cheap. While the difference might not be much it is all in what you want to spend. Kinda like comparing a set of Payless Spalding shoes to nice Nikes.

We do sell Jet Hot coated Pacesetters that are coated inside and out. They come with a warranty and will not rust from the inside out.

Another option is Jet Hot's headers, which are based on Hooker's design, but can be ordered with a removable cat Y-pipe. They were one of our best sellers untill Pacesetter came to market a little cheaper.

We also sell a lot of Kooks...and have a pretty awesome sale going on them here-
