Default running the exhaust straight off the headers?

I was thinking about doing this just temporarily for like a saturday night cruise or a trip to the track. I had forgotten if the O2 sensors were behind or in front of the headers? What do i need to do to be able to run the exhaust out of the headers without damaging anything or setting a ton of codes? If its too much effort i am not going to do it. I just thought it might be fun for a little while

Depends on the the headers, some hve it in the collector, while others have it before and after the cats. You can run open headers, but have NO CLUE how to do it, I still run manifolds.

...or in front of the headers...
how would an O2 sensor be in front of the header???

First off, what brand of headers do you have - or do you have stock manifolds? Are you running cats with all O2 sensors still intact, or are you running front O2's only with O2 simms in the rear? Basically what does your system consist of?

I think he probable ment it the other way around: after the hearders, before the cats. I wish I knew more on the subject, I was thinking about doing the same thing, but someone said that it would backfire all the time, and cold air would come in when you let off the gas after running at a hight RPM might be bad, but my sources were not very reliable
