Default Need opinions on LS engine

Can this engine be salvaged? Is 1500 a good price for engine/tranny? At first I thought it was a steal but after seeing the pics I don't know if it would be worth it.

It is a 2004 LS6 engine w/six speed 47k on it, out of some cadillac. What do you guys think?

ugh, toast....literally! lol. I'm sure **** (like cold water and dirt) got in the hot engine when they put the fire out - I mean the intake is totally melted in half! I would 100% stay away, at any price.

Yea, that's pretty crispy. It's junk. Might be worth a few bucks for scrap aluminum.

I'd say no... it would take a complete disassembly and rebuild with almost all new parts, new sensors, new wiring and the same for the trans as well. Something like this would nickel and dime you to death with all the small parts required and time needed just to get it cleaned up.

Thanks for all the replies, and yeah I'll stay away from it. It just sounded so good in the description before the pic.
