y-pipe Just put in my new GMMG exhaust. When installing the exhaust i noticed the y-pipe was rusted and flattened (i know this is stock). Does anyone know of a y-pipe that will bolt right in with no mods? I own a 8 cyl. 02 vert. automatic and am keeping the stock manifolds and cats.

From a performance standpoint, it's not really that worth it to change just the Y as most of the restriction is in the manifolds. However if your just doin it cuz its looks like hell, it deffinantly won't hinder performance!

You're basically in the same situation as me. I just got a new magnaflow catback and I am not planning on doing headers right now so I'm keeping the stock manifolds and flattened y pipe. A few guys on here told me that the stock manifold is biggest restriction, not the stock flattened y pipe. Unless you have to replace it because it is just rusted all together.
SLP does offer a stock stainless steel replace though.

Thanks to all,
Answered my question-will not add performance! FYI, the SLP y-pipe will not fit on a vert. automatic. I was told if i want to change stock y-pipe w/stock manifold, i will have to have it custom made. I'm just going to clean up the one on the car.
