Try swapping the two simms and see if you get a code for the other side - if so you have a bad simm.

O2 Sims are a "hit or miss" thing. There's one guy in our club that has tried about 3 different sets of O2 Sims and gets the SES light. I gave him a set that ran fine on my car and they threw the code on his car.

We put them on another member's car and they worked fine.

We're not sure of the problem, but you're on the right track. Swap sides with the O2 Sims and see if the problem follows the sim, or stays with the pipe. If it follows the sim, then you've got a bad one and need to have it exchanged.

If the problem stays with the pipe, well .. ????

Also try to see if the wires are chaffed or burned.
