Im not saying it sounds BAD or anything, but from the few Ive seen its raspy. And that vid I posted was LM1 on a stock manifolds, catted Y pipe car. I dunno.

If your going to buy a catback exhaust I'm not sure the price of the LM1 or whatever exhaust your ooking at or going straight pipes. But for the price I'm sure you can get any kind of catback with a muffler close to the same price and if you rjust doing a removal of your muffler and replacing it with pipe you could probablly just add a muffler for another 50 dollars give or take depending on brand. I had a glasspack on an LT1 once and it was loud and had an had no tone really. But if price is the object just change the muffler for now if your just wanting sound. If you want sound and performance I don't know about how straight pipes flow compared to anything else

Mine's not raspy at all, LM1 on stock man. and Y. It as a shock to me after I got mine, everybody says there loud and raspy and that's not true. Just cruising around 40mph it's about the same as stock. WOT is just ******* nasty though I love it.

Everyone has different tastes, but I have never been a fan of straight pipes.

I would recommend the LMI..which is basically the same..but very nicely made. Then if you get tired of the sound, or get headers, you can just swap in an SLMII resonator and call it a day.
