Hi.
I have done a search regarding the EGR and AIR removal and found a lot of useful information. However, the removal of the EGR will result an error on the SES light, as I have read. There seams to be a different opinion weather the removal will damage the engine, or causing it to run bad? I read in a thread that the timing will be set back as a safety feature? Can I for a limited time run with the faulty codes, if I can live with the light, with out having any problems with performance / driveability, or doing harm to the engine?

Now I’m conflicted, I would like to remove the EGR, because it looks like "beep" But I am not sure how hard / easy it is to delete the codes?

Is the ECU box a Bosch? I have a friend who thinks he can delete it, but he can only do Bosch codes?

Oh, by the way it is a 98 LS1 A4

 

Most people tune the codes out. I can't picture removing the EGR will kill the engine if you do it right. Just do your research. Try searching ls1howto.com or similar sites for the removal process I'm not sure if they have a write up on it or not but it's worth a look. For as many people who have done these mods I'm sure someone has got to have a nice write up of it all.

 

I have no doubts about the physical part of removing the EGR and AIR, it is the software part I have a problem with, but I will try to search that forum and se what I can find.
