Default Headers and Y-Pipe

I'm thinking of upgrading from my stock manifolds to some LT Headers. My question is I already have the SLP Y-Pipe. Am I going to need to get a larger Y to match the 3" diameter on the headers??????

Yes; you should probably consider getting the Y-pipe from the manufacturer of your LTs.

you will need a new y pipe. The SLP Y pipe fits to the factory manifolds or maybe shorties only. It will not even come close to working with any brand of longtube headers.

You can cut the SLP Y to accommodate the LT's and use a 3">2.5" reducer and some pipe to connect them. I would think that a competent exhaust shop could do the work without too much trouble.

AHR has a sweet LT and catter or ORY package that is a good bang for the buck. New Era Performance (sponser) has them. SLP Y is hard to match up, and will be less frustrating in the end for you.
