egr im going to remove my egr today and was wondering what to block the exhaust manifold with. what gains do you get when removing it. it looks like i should get some hp back because of the large rod in the intake. or does that stay
I dont think you'll see any gains just by removing it, I would just wait and get some LT's if you planned to and not have to worry about blocking plates. If not then im sure you can find some block off plates from one of the sponsors.
ws6store have them. I just did my ls6 manifold swap yesterday and I went to my shop and made one cuz I didn't want to wait to order and get it in the mail. Prolly won't find any at auto part storess.
you will have gains now if you can feel them thats a different story. you probably would in the heat of the summer. but your going to loose like 5lb. off the nose, and any little bit helps up there. when you do it, remove the A.I.R. system (pump, and lines, and brackets) thats another 8lb or so.
block off plates for the headers (air pump) are very easy to make if you have the means,,,
as up top, you will gain some, but not anyting your gonna feel. Your basiclly just removeing a restriction in your air flow (that tube that sticks down inside your intake opening.
i cant remember the size, but your gonna want a freeze plug for that opening in your intake that now needs to be blocked off....or buy yourself a LS6 intake.
