I had the same experience because they are moldings, they do not always have the same diameter. So some are easier to put in than others.

I bought the SLP lid and i love it. I've had almost every lid available and
the SLP was my favorite except for the QMP lid. The SLP lid is a one piece unit instead of a lid that is rigid and glued together. Just take your time
the lid with fit perfect. BTW, trash the K&N filter they dont seal that tight.
The Holley filter has extra rubber material on it's edges that seals tighter to
all LS1 lids.

I don't think the gym thing is the problem. lol 4 times a week should be enough! But I don't have a hair dryer... I am not a girl nor do I live with one. But that would have been nice to know. I was just immersed in it and didn't want to leave the project! Just a little frustrated at it.

your first time it can be confusing LOL. all you need is a bigger straight blade screw driver and you can have the MAF out of the stock silencer plastic deal in 20-30seconds tops. After doing about 30+ of them you figure it out. Also, on one of my cars i got in they had just a small piece of the intake tube rubber connector deals connecting the MAF to the SLP lid. Works great, SLP should send one with there lid instead of making you jam that sensor in there

I did headers on my old GP and that was not fun... let alone doing it on the cramped engine bay of this thing! haha I won't even like doing plugs!

But here's the new problem. The stock bellows is pushed together so much it's pushing the lid out and unclipping the clips. Kind of retarded... Will I even be able to get a smooth bellows on there!

make sure you have lid sitting on the filter box in the right place. Its possible to put it on wrong and make the clips not hold correctly.

Sounds like my story. The maf is a little hard to get off. But the whole experience is well worth it for the lid intake and filter!!! I found that putting it on the slp lid was hard too. so i loobed it up a little vaseline and it worked pretty easy. Couldnt get it off now for my life, but its on there!!! that's what counts, i guess!!

yeah that maf sensor is no joke...i broke mine in the process and had to get another one. but i would have to say the most tedious stupid hard mod i did was the tbody bypass lol.... harder than putting on the prokit and the lts's. i guess cuz you expect those stupid little things will be super easy.
