Either pry the **** out of the engine to get it to line up, or loosen all the bolts for the K-member pedestal and mount to block bolts and slide the through bolt in. Then tighten the pedestal and mount to engine bolts.

I would think you could just pry it up really hard to get it to line up.

ya i had alot of fun installing mine a few days ago. try using a block of wood on a jack and jack up he oil pan. or just keep rocking it back and forth. i didnt have a trany bolted up so it made it more awkward. i finaly got pissed and man handled it untill it gave in. give it "the stunner" or "the people elbow".

Man mine did this exact same **** and it took me about 4 hours to get it in. I know what you mean cause no matter how hard you pry it doesnt move enough. What I had to do was put a jack under the tranny and drop the tranny crossmember and move it to the side a little then bolt it back upi when I got the mount on. Let us know if you get it finished up

I just went through this a few months ago. Here are some pointers that helped me.

1) Look at the bolt that you are trying to put in there. Notice how it is "tapered" at the end. Take a grinder and make that tapered end into a point. This will help it to get started in the hole.

2) Get a prybar and put it between the cradle and the actual mount and pry like you have never pried before! While you are prying have someone else with a ratchet constantly trying to screw it in. Eventually the threads will catch and you can ratchet it in.

If you get frustrated just take a break. Good luck!

I had the exact same troubles when i did mine. I was all by myself and couldnt pry hard enough while trying to insert the bolt. what i did was get the passenger side all together than i loosened the driver side pedestal (the part of the motor mount that bolts to the frame) almost all the way leaving only about 3 threads of all four bolts in. I than jacked up the motor just a little bit and pivoted the pedestal up to the motor mount and that long bolt slid right in. Than i just tightened everything up. I was so pissed i didnt think of this before fighting with a prybar for an hour and a half!

after looking at that picture again it shouldnt be very hard to get the bolt through you are not far off at all. When I tried mine at first it was way worse that that. Just grind the tip of the bolt (not the threads) to a point like i talked about and you should be able to get it in without too much trouble.

Damn, a search worked!!! Mine is just like the pic above. I had trouble getting it in, so I shaved the bolt down to a good slanted point. Jacks, boards, bars, etc. No luck, I guess I will try loosening the pedestal tommorrow. I sure hope it works, Im so frustrated.

Update: I was able to get the bolt through by these addtional steps 1) loosen pedestal bolts 2) hammer down the prybar, I used a round one so in made it easier since I didnt have no one to hold it.

I was able to drive in a bit with the hammer and then screw it in the rest of the way, I did this alone. No help, but I did borrow these tools from work, access to 8 tool boxes worth $50,000 made it possible.

Mine did the same thing. I just tried prying everywhere where safe and moved the jack around. Took a few hours...never want to do motor mounts again. The outcome is really good though!

Good luck!

I did mine while I was doing a converter swap.

If you have a trans jack you might get more degrees of freedom if you support the trans and remove the trans mount.

Although that might be a PITA supporting the block and the trans with jacks.
I THINK that's how I did it, its a little fuzzy.

Just a thought.
