Throttle Body Size Is there big enough?
Throttle Body Size Is there big enough? I'm about ready to rebuild the '02 LS1 I've got for my '57 and can't make up my mind on the throttle body size. I'm installing PRC 5.3 Stg. 2.5 heads and a Torquer cam, headers and a T56.
I appreciate the whole concept of an engine as an air pump and more air in is a good thing, but if I'm not out to set speed records, but want to have great mid rpm performance, is a FAST 78 good enough, or will I really potentially see a difference if I stepped up to a 90?

A larger throttle body will flow more at higher rpm and give a higher peak #, while a smaller one will give you better low and mid range #'s because it increases volocity, so the air enters faster at slower engine speeds.
Since you're going H/C I think the 90 would fit pretty well. Like Vaticano said the more flow the higher the hp goes up the rpm range. So you might gain 10 extra hp at 6800 but you might lose 20 from 3200-6000. But like said, you have H/C so the 90 will flow perfect for you IMO.
