408 AFR225 head gasket?

Default 408 AFR225 head gasket?

I have a 6.0 iron block and AFR 225, 72cc heads...


I have a Cometic GM LSX MCLAREN 4.140" Bore, .040 MLS gasket. I called TSP and told them what I have and this is what they sent me. For some reason I just dont think its the right gasket. Are the gaskets different for an LSX and 6.0 block? I know the 72cc need a large bore gasket and thats what these are. But, they look different then the 4.030 gaskets that I once had. These new ones have gasket material and a bolt hole through it around where the lifters go. Are these right? Any help, I can get pics of them too.

Post a pic. I run the AFR 225 big bore and per AFR you should run a 4.130 gasket. I don't know if the extra diameter makes a difference, but I would contact Tony Mamo at AFR to make sure. Are these MLS?

we run a 4.130" cometic gasket C5317 ? IIRc

Is there a reason why all that extra gasket bore?

I will post a pic later today. Everything looks good except for the cooling holes around the bore dont line up right. They are half blocked off on the tops. The bottom water passage holes line up, but not the tops. I PM'd Tony Mamo and he said the size is correct, but didnt know if they would work with the block or not. Said to contact Cometic and I have yet to do that. Pics coming soon. Thanks for the help, i want to get the heads on and get the motor back in the car. Its been down too long.

Another thing is that since they are LSX gaskets they are made for 6 bolt heads. Id assume I can still run 4bolt heads with these, kind of like 4 bolt heads still work on the LSX block?
