carbed 04 LS! Will the carbed intake an controller do the job in my 55 chevy truck. What all will i have to convert? I’ve heard that 243 heads an a cam, but what cam. I want a rough idle. Not sure on what trans, thinking a turbo 400. What about the flywheel?

Besides Carb and Intake you will need a controller like the MSD setup, as for the turbo 400 it's a nice trans but also has a high drivetrain ratio loss, your truck with stock gearing has either 4.11 or 3.90 gears and is going to be screaming down the highway, this would make nice for the 700R4 trans or one of the newer 4l60 or 4l80 transmissions, unfortunately they require controllers and TPS unless you get one that hass been fully prepped, there is lots of room in the engine compartment especially if you have left the stock front straight axle in it, would make an excellant conversion to a fully injected setup with the later style auto trans or 6speed w/hydraulic clutch. These trucks are nice & light in the frontend (great weight transfer) with the stock front axle, I had a 56 with a 283, 4spd and 3.90 gears and could occasionally pop the frontend of the ground.
