my buddy had a magnaflow on his ta, ORY w/pacesetters and high flow cats and the **** was quiet!!!! then he switched to an H pipe true dual under the axle . . . no muffler and it got alot louder! course you could go my route: catless H pipe into LM1 under the axle out the back

I had this exact same setup before I cammed my T/A and you're right it's not that loud but it's definitely louder than a stock LS1. Once I put a decent sized cam in then it was MUCH louder. Just weld in a cutout on your y-pipe and you're good to go.

i'd give it some time and see if it gets any louder... if not, just replace the magnaflow muffler with something else.... hooker aerochamber maybe?! i've heard one and they sound very nice... they arent very loud but it should be louder than the magnaflow

I have stock manifold, custom Y pipe (flat portion removed), stock cats, and magnaflow cat back and i couldn't believe how quiet it was when I first got it. When it was being put on there were some young guys (younger than me and Im 25) waiting to have single chamber flowmasters put on their fox body mustang. When the welder started the car up after he was finished I was kind of embarrassed. They were like "lets hear it, then didn't say anything after"
I also had a cutout put on right before the muffler, sounds great with it off but I started getting tired of the loudness so I just recently capped it off. Once I get tired of the quietness, I'll uncap it.
It weird because my old 1990 RS 305 TBI (RIP) with Edelbrock shorty headers, Catco converter, and Hooker Catback sounded GREAT!!!! Maybe I'll try an aerochamber muffler next, only bought the Magnaflow because I got a great deal on it used, low mileage.

Just buy a cutout, thats what I did. whenever i want quiet I put the cap on. whenever i want LOUD i take it off. you have the best of both worlds.

I have the Magnaflow exhaust on my car. It does not have headers on it though. It is surprisingly quiet. Definitely has a nice tone to it though, it sounds really good when you get on it.
