why does this happen?
why does this happen? on my 98 z i have the 160 degree t-stat, and i have the fans programed to turn on early and everything , my question is that when i drive on regular traffic the temperature needle goes up to a little less than a quarter mark and doesnt move, now when i get on the highway and im driving for a while on the highway, the temperature needle goes all the way up to almost the halfway mark. why is that? i thought with the constant airflow it would keep the car cooler thanks in advance

98 t stats are the only "real" stats, they give a more acurate reading than the 99+ gauges which are basically dummy.
Hook up a computer tuner or external water temp gauge to get the most acurate reading. Othewise you are guestimating on the stock equipment.
