Default What was your gain from adding headers?

I'm looking for before and after #'s
I'm looking for #'s from people who added only headers, not headers, cam, full exhost and a whole other list of stuff at once.

If you had a cam before headers, then later added headers, what was your gain?

What was your gain from only headers?

-thanks

Only headers, was about 2/10th in the qtr. This was after I already had true duals. Mines a 00 so you may see more gains. Some say the 98-00 share the same manifold, and others say only 98 & 99, so depends.

Tough to do that man. LT's I assume? Most poeple go with them and when u do that u have to change the Y-pipe. When y-pipe is changed they go with a cat back too (actually poeple change the cat back first). So ur gonna have a hard time guetting an answer to just a header change.
But with full exhaust mod u could be looking at up to 50+ Rwhp.
I went with shorties W/O cats+ O2 sims + 2.75 inch Y-pipe + Hooker 3 inch catback and got 27 RWHP. Did it for sniff reasons and clearance (Lowered +Body kit)
LT's are a better gain as mods increase, especially if u do cam and heads.

OOps, yeah...LT headers. Ok, well LT's and what ever Y pipe you needed.
I'm not looking for nesasarly a stock car with only headers. All I'm looking for is headers added. Not headers and a whole list of other stuff.

Basicly what I'm going for here...I'm trying to figure what the FLP LT's, that FedEx should be bringing by any min. now, will do for my 01 LS6 with F1 cam...
with stock exhost manifolds I put 381 down (stock TB and stock tunning, but that dosn't matter right now), I'm wondering what kind of gains I could expect from the FLP's.

I would think 10-15 hp max but look for the toque to come up with the long tubes. '01 have good flowing manifolds.

I'm looking for your #'s. I'm not looking for what you think might happen.
I have stock 99 manifolds.

Ok SS,. your headers are on the way anyway! So slap them on and Dyno your puppy you'll find out for yourself. Yours is a hybrid and no matter what anybody says the truth is in your #.
Since you have a baseline 381rwhp, i'm sure you can substract the difference.

I was running 8.4x in the 1/8 mile with a tsp lid, hotcam, and loudmouth. I added pacesetter headers and y pipe and ran 8.05 @90.1 mph running through an open y. Sorry I dont have any 1/4 mile times yet.

Once you add those headers and get tuning plan to see over 400 rwhp no problem.

Not upset once I got the picture of ur set up (didn't in ur initial post). I figured that my answer was the only one that would give u the true facts. Every other comment would be speculation. U got a 99 W/ 01 Zo6 and stock 99 manifolds. How many of us like that?
I thaought I was just making sense. I like your swap

OH and post ur # once you got that beast dynoed. I think you'll go 410/420 rwhp (Curious)

After LTs and Y-Pipe(no Cats) the car made
29 more HP @5600 rpm and 24 more Tq @4600 rpm.
Track # are inconclusive since I added 17's and
the weather was much worse than before, but it
shaved 2 tenths anyways, same trap. I blame the extra weight from the 17's for the trap?

First mod I did on my 02 SS was SLP Longtube headers and Y-pipe (no cats). Pulled it in and dynoed 312.6 rwhp/332.1 rwtq. put it on the lift and installed the headers. dropped it and straight back on the dyno for 342.3 rwhp/357.0 rwtq. Not to bad. Oh yea I still have the stock cat back. I didn't really want to mess with it since I have the CME.

Maybe (only maybe) 50 hp with FULL bolt on AND full exhaust but no way full exhaust only....

My ls1 was full bolt on till last winter and no way I had gained more than 50rwhp over stock then...

A kid I know just got MAC headers, ORY pipe, and no cats...dumped through a cutout, he gained 4 mph in the 1/4 mile. He was trapping 106 (13.2), now its 110-111 (12.9 no traction). The 106 was run with stock exhaust, and a cutout.

U said it yourself man, (MY LS1). The poster has a LS6 From a Z06 vette with an F1 cam. That is hardly an LS1. Look up on the Dyno # of an LS1 and you'll see a gain of 30+ rwhp with LT's W/O cats + Y-pipe.
I maintain that he can very possibly gain 50 rwhp
