catback vs cutout

on a stock car, you'd probably see more with a cutout...it also depends on the overall setup, but a cutout would net more because its zero restriction...some people see big gains, others see just a couple of rwhp...
cutout is basically a straight pipe
catback has a muffler
the exhaust with the least restriction makes more power.....i'm sure you can figure out the rest.
something to think about though is a cutout on a stock exhaust is still gonna be on 2.75" pipe. a catback will be 3" pipe, which is a 16% increase in cross sectional area.

At the track on friday I ran with my cutout closed through my Hooker Aero Chamber muffler then open and I gained zero on my ET. I guess the Aero chamber flows pretty well.
