Header y-pipe install prep

Header y-pipe install prep I just got my MAC headers and y-pipe this weekend that are off my buddies car (used). His car was slammed to the ground and the y-pipe is a little scrapped up. It looks like it may have been powder coated originaly, a white gray color that is not smooth, a little texture to the paint. Should I buy some high temp rustolium type paint and go over the whole y-pipe. Furthermore, I saw some guy ported his MAC headers, how do I do that, what is it, hard to do,pros and cons? Thanks, I know that is a lot of questions, but I'm waiting on the O2 simulators and want to take care of everything now while I can, thanks.

Re: Header y-pipe install prep Don't bother painting it....Its under your car, its gonna get dirty anyhow....Unless of course your a show car.
From what I remember about porting mac headers, its usually done because they do a sloppy job on the ports, I think if you get a sander or dremel you can just clean up the port to make it more free flowing.
Personally I don't think it would add too much performance, but why not do it, it should be fairly easy
