when i bought my car they cat back had been cut off and it was just kind of slash cut at the big i pipe underneath. and about a week later i went back to the guy and asked him if he had the stock catback he had cut off bc this rigged exhaust wasnt gonna fly with me. not to mention if was a dog of the line, well i later found out it was. he goes and pulls out a catback from his back yard and throws, yes throws it on the ground. ya take this i forgot about it. it didnt take me long to figure out this was a gmmg catback lol. anyway i ran this with stock manifolds and it does sound awesome!! very deep and just great sound quality. Next, i put long tubes and ory on it. it changes the sound 100%, its mostly the ory that does it. moral of the story, it did take some getting used to but it sounds sick either way, and will sound even better with my cam, it just the ory you have to get used to that comes with the headers. would i of spend the money on a new gmmg? no bc i didnt have it. now that i have one would i recommend them? yes. find a used one and run its ***** off
Seems to me that every loud catback has way too much rasp. I tried a bunch of differant systems but with LTs and no cats I didn't like any of them. I finally went with TDs out the back. No rasp and a kickass deep tone. just what I was looking for.
did you get the pipes and bend them yourself? what mufflers did you go with? i didnt do mine myself, but i went with single chambers and an H-pipe.
no pipes were bent when i bought them...just had to weld them together where he cut them to ship...2.5 bullets dumped with a dynomax x pipe.....i have plenty of sound clips if your interested
Well my exhaust fell off today (rusted through right where the intermediate pipe comes into the muffler). So I need to make decisions a little faster. I'm pretty sure I'm going with true duals but I need headers, some high flow cats, mufflers and it run out the back. Either 2.5 or 3 inch, so I don't have a ton of money. I will have about $1200 right now and my dad said he will loan me some money. So I'm wishing that my clutch doesn't go out anytime soon.

for headers, i would strongly recemend LPP headers. IMO they're very high quality and stainless steal. i have their old design and they work great for me, and the new design looks much better than the old ones. they're $500 shipped. if you dont care about them being stainless, go with pacesetters for price and quality. i went with flowmaster single chamber mufflers, i wish i could get you a clip, but from what i've heard, they're the best sounding mufflers for an fbody with true duals. my second choice would be sweet thunders. i'd also go with an h-pipe over an x, they tend to sound better. unless your going h/c, or FI, 2.5'' pipe is fine and you save a little more ground clearence. as far as cats go, i took mine out so idk mutch about aftermarket cats. i've heard good things about magnaflow and maybe random tech.

sure man, post up some clips so nrs2420 can get an idea of what bullets sound like. maybe i can get some of mine so he can compare bullets with an x to single chambers with an h.
this car sounds a lot like mine. he's got the same set-up except his is over the axle and mine's under. his cars even the same color as mine haha. but if i cant get you a clip, this one's pretty close. just remember, camara's do no justice, you'd have to hear it in person.
