FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap, talk about SH^T! Sure it sounds killer at high RPM, sure, it sound nice in cruise, but what about reving it? I hate when people ask to hear it cause I think it sounds like crap when the PRMs drop. The car sounds like it dies. 
If you have something good to say about Flowmaster then say it. I am in the future going to run true duals with X-pipe, and Dynomax bullit muffler. Now that is performance, now that is loud. Its going to cost me a grand total of $120. I get free work and pipes so I am set. Tommorow I will finally do the exhaust mod, where I add a "Borla Touch" and add un-muffled exhaust to the muffled. It bypasses the muffler at WOT, Oh Yeah!

The really good news is you probably lost horsepower on top of everything else.
That's why I have a brand new Flowmaster 53083 sitting in my storage and not being used. Re: FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like how my car sounds. Yeah when the RPM's drop after a rev it sounds like crap, but oh well. I'm planning on getting something new in the near future, probably LoudMouth or something.

I like my Flowmaster and it sounds mean and muscular....probably because I rerouted one of the inlets making into one and capping the other inlet of the muffler....sort of making sound like Borla........As far as HP.....that was taken care of with the cutout.....Man it sounds mean!!! ...gotta love it!!

Flowmaster is the worst investment ever,i could'nt stand that sound anymore.It was allright when i first got it,Sounds horrible with orp,It is poor quality its been on my car for almost 2 years and it fell apart so i ripped it off last night its straight piped now,still trying to decide which catback to buy???????

Re: FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My flowmasters are awesome!! BUT its NOT the crossflow Camaro / Firebird muffler either. I have 2 one chamber Delta Flow Race mufflers. Its the meanest Ive heard yet 
Re: FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Flowmaster on my IROC sucks. It sounds good, but the car gained about 25 HP w/ a cutout, went from 109.5MPH to 111.98. I love the Hooker catback on my LS1, great sound and supposed to flow very well. I've heard of guys only gaining 5-10 rwhp w/ a cutout over the Hooker.

It sounds even deeper with my SLP y-Pipe that I installed a week or so ago.
I get alot of compliments: head turns, walk-ups and the occasional side pull-ups @ the light.
Most people say it is not too loud and not too quiet,just right.
Especially when you are WOT.
You can't go wrong with the Hooker for sound and price. Good luck.

Re: FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've gone from a Flowmaster to a Hooker. The Flowmaster sounded good with stock manifolds and y-pipe. After the LTs and ORY, it got raspy. The Hooker sounded great with the ORY, LTs, and stock cam. Now its raspy all over again after the cam install.

Re: FLOWDISASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate the way flomaster sounds on the camaro but I love it on the mustang, flomaster can stay with them. Also I don't like the tips that they have when its on the camaro. I love my borla I think it sounds bad ***, but that just me.
