Pretty set on hooker catback. Any others worth considering?
I like the hooker tips (2nd best to Borla) and the clean sound it has. Can't afford Borla, really liked my old one just because of the plates. I've seen the Spintech on some sites, but haven't heard one locally although my friend has one on his 01 GT that sounds pretty nice. It is $100 more though. Absolutely hate the loudmouth. Any other ideas?

Hooker catback is really nice, I am switching to dual though but that would be my only two choices. Kinda funny that you mentioned it but I am using spintech mufflers for my dual setup.

Mike K- kind of funny you would mention Magnaflow. My buddy Brian Armstrong has one on his 01 Black Z hardtop 6 speed and lives in Lakeland FL. I live in Raleigh NC. Pretty wierd huh? I just rode in his two months ago. Sounds pretty good. I just don't care much for angled/slash cut single pipes.

Wow that is funny that your friend lives in Lakeland and his car is exactly the same as mine It's a small world.

I think the magnaflow sounds better the hooker, had them both on my car (have the hooker on it now) but the tips just stuck out too much on a camaro. The 1/4 panel is extended down lower on the firebirds so it doesnt look as bad. But IMO it looked like two chrome baseball bats under a camaro
If Magnaflow would use regular 2 1/2 pipe and use short tips like the single SLP tips they would sell a LOT more systems. The sound and the fit/finish on their catback is awesome, they even use two extra hangers on the tailpipes like the dual/duals so it doesnt shake at idle. Plus it sounds great with an ORP, best catback for the money out there if it wasnt for those tips...

That's what I'm saying. I don't want to look like a Z71 with duals. The spintech I haven't actually seen or heard, but replies on here say it's fairly loud. Thinking the Hooker is the way to go. Sponsors often have it for around $260.

Its not impossible to change the tips on the magnaflow, and sell them for some descent money to a friend with a truck.

I have listened to most of the popular cat-backs on similiar F-Body set-ups at gatherings/car shows and that is why I chose the Hooker's.
If you add a Y pipe, the tone gets a little bit deeper but not too loud. For half the price of the more popular stainless systems, you can't beat'em plus the wife "can live with it" which is an added bonus.
It's a big decision cause once it is on, it's on. Unless you want to loose cash in trying to sell something used and then you gotta go thru the whole decision process again.
Go with your gut instinct. Good luck.
