Default Which Headers?

I am going to put some LT headers on my '00 SS but don't know which ones to buy.

I have a line on some Pacesetters, Flowtechs, and Hookers. Of these can anyone one tell me which ones are the:
1. easiest install
2.best fit
3.best performer

Thanks

Pacesetter's have a good rep. for easy install. Everybody on here will tell you to get them coated. You just need to do a search. Headers info is easy to come by on here.

They're going to all perform generally the same on a stockish car. Many people on here use Pacesetter because they're a cheap, well fitting header.

I only have experience installing Pacesetters and QTPs...

Pacesetter are definitely super easy to install... QTP was a little bit of a pain in the ***.

On Pacesetters you will have to cut a small casting tab off the driver side of the block..then the header will slide right in. A sawzall will slice through it like butter.

Thumbs up

Do I need the ones with the EGR and A.I.R. PIPE? If I go with off-road ones what do I have to do to use them?

Thanks everyone for your help. It sounds like the best way to go is the pacesetters or hookers that are coated.

My next step is going to be adding an LS6 intake and a head/cam package from cartek. Either one of these headers should be fine with that setup - I think.

Go with the offroad/race headers. You will be deleting the EGR anyways when you go with the LS6 intake...and the AIR is easy to remove also.

yes you need EGR so your car will be legal if youre not wanting to be legal than dont get it, but keep in mind you might want to have a friendly inspector in your area, at least know of one

Hooker all the way. Easy install. Great ground clearance. Good power and sound.

x2 on the Hooker LT's!!!! I got mine, ceramic coated with 02 extensions, Y pipe, and 02 sims for $477 shipped.

mine slid in like butter on a shaved kitten, I didn't have to do any grinding, remove any parts other than the factory manifolds/cats or fight anything to get them in...the hardest part was starting the bolts. Ground clearance is the best part of these. Speed Inc sent me a Pacesetter Y pipe and it fit like absolute crap, I bought the Hooker Y pipe from Jegs and it fits like a glove.
