besides the price, what's the differnce? one offer better clamping then another?

12pt has less chance of getting rounded off because there are 12 socket contact points instead of 6. (spreads out the load)

The 12 point makes it easier to tighten. A 12pt socket has a thinner wall than a 6 pt, making it take up less room. Differences in strength or clamping force are negligable at best. I'd go for the 12 pt just for the ease of installation.

Is there really a clearance issue with the standard hex nuts?? Arent the factory head bolts hex heads?
