Default open headers = love at first sound

I got the pacesetter headers installed today. they are open and I love it. Besides being extremely loud and throwing codes what is bad at leaving it open?

Realistically that's about it... It can burn out your O2's. The only other real problem will be the possible unwanted attention from the law... If you like the sound enough and don't mind a possible ticket then just put a few pieces of 14" pipe on the end of each collector and call it a day.

Your enfatuation will diminish over time. Trust me, open headers are not pleasent over an extended period of time. Anyway, if you like it then as mentioned above just add some pipe to the end. Know that you will loose a significant amount of low end torwue do to insufficient back pressure.

Not really back pressure as much as scavenging.

It was fun for a trip down the road and back again testing out the converter but it didnt seem realistic to drive like that everyday. I wouldnt want to anyways.

I really only enjoyed listening to the idle with my open headers. Driving it down the road made me feel like I had a plow attachment on and was tilling up the freeway.

Turn them at a 45° angle. It will do your ears a favor.

lol.. I ran extensions and turnouts for about 6 weeks... then I got sick of it and put on some flowmaster 1 chambers on the collectors. now 6 months later I just completed a TD setup with an H pipe which is wayyy quieter. so yeah insanely loud got old or me but it did take a while. Ohh and I daily drive my car too about 40 miles a day 5 days a week in all weather too.

doesn't your car run a little richer due to fresh air hitting the o2 sensors and the engine thinking it's running lean?

i just put the extensions on mine the other day, and it quieted it down a bit from the inside. i hate the way it looks though cuz on the driver's side it hangs a little bit, and for me everything has to be even or i freak out.

What do you mean richer. The service light came on but it sounds like i have a cam on the car which is sexy.
