Greddy Catrch Can installed pics setup OK?
Well, I just finished installing a Greddy oil catch can in my car since I am consuming oil lately (macs, cam, etc...)
Anyway, I did not realize how heavy a piece this was. The best place I could find for it was on the drivers side near the fuse boxes. It is really tight, doesn't rub, but it is a little far away from the other side. I used four feet of hose for each connection (8 feet total). I pulled it off and there is plenty of suction, so it this ok? It seems good to me, but I did not see any pics of others mounting it there. Thanks!

Looks nice.
As long as there's still good suction and it doesn't rub on anything, why the hell not?
Is it attached to anything or just wedged in there?

I made a thick rubber boot it fits into. It is very tight. You have to really pull hard to get it out. It's not going anywhere!
Thanks.

If you want to place it where I did, then you need one 4ft piece of 3/8 inch fuel line ($4). The clear line (4ft also) in the photo came with the catch can. And that's it.
I bought the 9mm.

one last thing, how does this work? once it is full do you put the oil back in? also my car has heads and cam and i have to put a quart in it about every 1500 miles. when we did a header swap i had oil residue on my header ports and exhaust ports on the heads.2 of my plugs were oily as well. does this sound like the problems you had or something else? sorry for all the questions just trying to figure this out. thanks!

I guess you can put the oil back in if you want. It is a closed system so I don't think any moisture/dirt can get in. (There is a drain plug at the bottom of the can)
Yeah, it should prevent the oil from getting sucked out of the valve covers (or valley cover is using LS6 setup) back into the intake manifold.
I'll know more about as soon as I put more miles on it.

I installed mine where the EGR used to be. I bought the Greddy universal bracket and just bolted it to the head using the original EGR bolt and some washers.

Re: Greddy Catrch Can installed pics setup OK?
It may be the rings! My '99 with 50,000 miles on it started blowing huge clowds of blue smoke after the Mac's went on (@ WOT only), it was using 1 qt+ every 1,000 miles also, I just had it re-built and the rings were GONE! I tried a GReddy catch can and it worked great for catching oil from the PCV line, but my problem was the rings. I now have the LS6 PCV system and the GReddy in the garrage, it works, but if you are using large amounts of oil (like 1 qt every 1,000 miles or more) it's not all from the PCV system trust me.

what is the ls6 pcv system? i called my chevy dealer and they said that the ls1 and ls6 used the same pcv valve. what else is required to get? ive been afraid thats what it is(the rings). how much did it cost you to get the rings fixed? would it be better for me to just get a 346 resleeved, balanced, blue printed, and forged bottom end from mti($3000.00)??? my car only has 20000 miles on it and im sure they wont touch it now b/c of the mods ive done. thats whats going to suck no warranty. but i guess thats what happens when you take risks!

The LS6 PCV systems means you are using the the valley cover (under the intake manifold) to suck the air out of the engine, as opposed to the vavle covers.
Yeah, what is involved with doing rings... Maybe I'm up next

This article explains a lot about oil consumption issues on LS1/LS6s:
