Headers, what should I go with
The only advice I can offer, is what I have real-world experience with. I've installed 3 sets of Kooks (all on LS1 F-Bods), and all sets were a piece of cake. I do have a 2-post lift in my shop, which makes things easier, but that doesn't take anything away from how well Kooks engineers & inspects their products.
The headers tuck up nice and tight against (not touching) the block, and I lost ZERO ground clearance. All 3 sets were backed up with a Magnaflow stainless cat-back; 2 of the 3 got the ORY treatment. The flanges that stud to the block were dead-nuts flat, every weld was perfect (at least visually), and there were no fitment problems at all.
Oh, they really woke up all 3 cars, too.
I can't offer you any advice on any other brand of header, because I have never installed any other brand but Kooks.
