Default Which HEADERS are best????

Ok i got a 98 trans am, i 'm rebuilding the engine at 275,000 miles and i want some headers, tell me whats an aggressives sounding header I can get? i have a magnaflow exhaust considering GMMG though! I've been leaning toward passetters , these seem popular...I've heard that Kooks are over rated...Last time I looked at headers Borla sounded good, but no one talks about those anymore...PLEASE HELP! What headers to buy that are reasonable priced?

I dont think there is Bolra headers for F-BODY.

If you want great headers with GREAT price then check TSP 1 7/8 headers
Something cheaper and works great too Pacesetter.

Kooks are not overated. Mine have been on for a year now and still look very nice in the engine bay. What ever you decide on, try n go stainless.

I just went through months of searching this forum, as well as others. My conclusion to which is the best header for a reasonable amount was Edelbrock. They have the similiar HVMC as QTP does, but for about half the price of QTP. If you want the best get Kooks, if you don't care and only want LT's to have LT's, get Pacesetter.

Are edelbrocks stainless? If not they're junk in a couple years.

They do come in stainless, however they are a couple hundred more going this route. You can have them coated however, and that should buy you quite a few more years out of them.

If you plan on keeping your car and want the best, buy the Kooks. They are pricey, but I think they were worth it for my car.No the Kooks are not overatted. If you can't afford them you could get the pacesetters. They are ok,but won't last nearly as long.It depends on your budget.Remember you get what you pay for.Anything that isn't stainless
won't last.

lol that probably took you longer to post that then just post a brand of header...

anyways from what i have read, any stainless header is the way to go, there isn't really a noticable difference between long tube brands, unless the tubing size is different.

If I were to go with a top of the line header, I'd go with AR. For a cheap set go Pacesetter. If you want stainless but don't want to break the bank check out LPPs.

If you are going to run a Y pipe with your LT's nothing fits better or has a nicer merge than ARH IMO. The weld quality is superb and they have HVMC too.

American Racing Headers are the best header on the market... PM me if you would like to purchase a set. There is no comparison to them.

Read around and see what people have to say about the headers they run, then get with a vendor here who sells many different brands of headers and let us know what you are looking for and a budget you have to work with and we will help guide you to where you need to be. There are many vendors like us here who sell several different brands and can give you insight on what will satisfy your desires the best for the money. We, for example, sell QTP, Edelbrock, Pacesetter, Kooks, Hooker, and a few others. Shoot me a pm or even give me a call and we can find the best you can get within your budget. We are more than happy to get you some information and point you in the right direction as to what to look for.

EDIT: AR is a great set of headers to look into as well, Fran posts faster than me

I've heard good things about the edlebrocks.

Pacesetter are the best bang for the buck.

As everyone else has mentioned, Kooks are certainly not over-rated. The may cost more than some of the other headers out there, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for."

Pacesetters are an inexpensive header that will net you a bit more power than your factory manifolds, but if you're looking to spend money on headers then I've always found it better to save up a little longer and spend a little more money on the better product that will give you better results.

Do some more reading on Kooks and I'm sure your interests will change toward their product or a similar quality header. If Kooks does interest you we currently have their products on sale w/free shipping and we're also running a free header coating promotion.

Let us know if we can be of any help to you.

Thanks,
Andrew

I bought pacesetters and am I happy with the performance and they're price, however the ceramic ones do rust anyways. I was one of the guys asking the same question and telling these guys they were full of ****. But guess what, they get hot and they rust quick. I should have listened to everyone when they said to get the stainless headers. Its a real bitch doing all that work, spending the money, and a week later changing the oil only to find it beginning to rust already. I'm going with some Kooks when I get the money. I would definately spend the extra scratch now, so I don't have to worry about them rusting through especially at the welds.
