243 heads question

i have been looking at these heads, but it seems that some have "D" shaped exhaust ports and some just have round ones. does that make any sense or am i just a dumbass?

They all have "D" shaped exhaust ports. The ones that look like round ports are due to the carbon build-up around the port, but they actually are "D" shaped.

the Ls1 241,853, and 98 ls1 heads are all round ports. the D ports are only on 243 heads

I should have been a bit clearer. All 243 casting heads have the "D" shaped ports.
