Oh, okay, I gotcha. Maybe the crappy stock mounts are causing my headers to not hang low enough? I really can't imagine that because they seem to hang just perfectly and I've seen other brands ride up even higher. QTP's are one of the lower hanging headers because they're longer than pretty much all the other brands in terms of total primary length. I won't be home to drive my car for another three weeks, but I gotta do an oil change soon. When I get a chance to get under my car, I'll have to see how the clearance to the side of the k-member is. Due to the motor mount shifting, it may be very close and could be tapping as it seems to do it a lot harder when I make a LEFT turn. It does it lightly when I take off hard from a standstill and I don't detect it when I make a hard right. It's the most pronounced at a hard left.

Yeah dude, I'd try to see about loosening the driver's side header bolts (10mm Gear Wrench is a knuckle saver ) and try to push the rear of the collector down while tighthening the bolts back up. QTP deliberately made the bolt holes a little big in order to do this.

Mine point down just a little bit, like 'Torch says.

Regarding your cat', I bet I can tell you what's going on because it looks like we have similar set-ups in this area. My cat is shaped a little different, but have a look in one of my images of the cat, and the stamped crossmember I am referrencing. It shows how I trimmed it a little bit and was able to get a little more body clearance and keep the ground clearance I was hoping for. Fortunately, I trimmed a little at a time, because any more trimming wouldn't help because this is as far as the cat' will go up.

I'm sorry to hi-jack, I just saw a spot where I might be able to help. Choco'- feel free to PM me if I can be more helpful with this. I think we're talking about the same problems.

Well I bought the headers from Gordon, and go figure, have the exact same issue. Guess I should have done this search before:

Time to try all the great suggestions in this thread. Thanks guys.

For a little more info though, they are hitting the k-member right where the lower control arm mounts on the passenger side.

To the OP: Do you have stock or upgraded motor mounts? If they're stock, I agree with those that say you should look at either installing poly's or solid motor mounts. If you already have either of these, then I would look to modify the exhaust. Hope you find a solution. Good luck.
