clutch and LTs

clutch and LTs i searched and couldnt find what i was lookin for so i was hoping u guys could help me out.
i have SLP lts, and am gettin ready to do a clutch, do i have to take the headers off or can i get the tranny off without removing them?
and it takes quite a bit of force to get the shifter into reverse!
is this a syncro problem or is it somethin else?
