Doesn't really seem like that great of an idea to skimp on a pretty major part of the cooling system to lose a few pounds.

Holy ****. Why don't you replace the radiator with a piece of rubber hose while you're at it.

Seriously WTF are you thinking?

I think the little bit of weight you will shave will not be worth the higher temps- heat is the enemy for engine wear and performance
If I knew the guy in the next lane didnt have a fan... it sure would take me awhile to stage

I say go for it. Every experiment is a learning opportunity, and it's not my car, so by all means yank the fans. Let us know how that works out.

Do not take the cooling fans out of that damn car..... weight reduction my ***... if you want to loose pounds go on a half tank of gas dump the wiper fluid and take out your seats (not the driver on though, i know it will help be lighter but u need it to sit in) take a good **** and one healthy **** before making your run...that will cut more weight than those fans and wont **** your **** up....honestly unless you have a serious car with some serious consistancy.....your not going to see any drastic results from losing 50 lbs
