Default HELP! Header install!

A friend and I are installing SLP headers on my 98 Formula. We can't seem to get the passenger side in. The car is on the hoist right now...

We have jacked the motor up, and ground down the K-member...it still won't go.

What else can be done?

Thank you!

Did you un-do the 3 bolts? By how much.

Thanks a lot...I really appreciate all the help.

EDIT: also...where did you pry it?

YES!

Passanger side is in.

Any tips for the driver side? Do you have to take the filter off / undo the steering?

I took the oil filter off when I did my headers but I didn't have to mess with the steering.

When I did mine I took the oil filter off and unbolted the trans mount
pryed the trans over to one side and slid the header in, then did the same for the pass side. no problems at all. took about 4 hrs or so.
do you have a copy of the install papers that come with the headers?

Just make sure you route the wires on the pass side thru the motor mount so it clears the headers and heat wrap them to prevent them from melting.

I have the install guide on my pc but cant post it.???

Thanks a lot for all the help guys.

They are finally in after using all the above techniques, AND the 'persuader'. It was a long day, but worth it in the end.

Thanks!

glad to see you got them in. although I didnt have to remove the starter or grind on the k member or the block tab. I have seen alot of people say this is nessicary but Mine slid in just fine once the trans was moved from side to side.
