Do you plan on giong over the axle?
If not, I'd go with 3". Thats what I have, and my clearance is just as good (if not better) as the Hooker y-pipe was. btw... My car is lowered with the Eibach Pro-kit.
Does it scrape?... Sometimes. But never very bad, and only on tall speed bumps.

If you're going over the axle, used 3 inch up to the x crossover and 2.5 after. You can get a crossover than is 3 inch in and 2.5 out. With turndowns, I would simply use all 3 inch. That's What I did. I made my exhaust myself, and it has better ground clearance than my old mac y pipe. The new exhaust has never hit the ground. A word to the wise...It's gonna be loud if you just use bullet mufflers and turndowns before the axle, though the cats should reduce the noise some.

I'm running 3" to just before the axles, then have them flange-bolted to 2 1/2" tailpipes to go over the axles. I had them flanged so the tailpipes could come off for track use. I am eventually going to have the cats flanged and removable as well for the same purpose. No cats and just bullet mufflers was way too loud for everyday street use, so I added 3" cats. Still a little loud, but bearable. Sounds great!
