mac mids

i know this is beaten to death but i jusbout macs n custom ory for 200$ having 2nd thought abot installing them and have some questions? how much might i give up then with lt's. how will it sound? better than stock. and will i feel a kick? lastly should i port them? people who have or had mac pease chime in.

i have mac mids with the mac Y pipe hooked up to a TSP rumbler catback....the car sounds awesome and i have even had some local LS1 guys come look under my car and ask why it sounded more exotic then a normal LS1 with headers...they thought i had longtubes to begin with...so sound is good with them....as far as giving up power over Longtubes...you will leave some on the table but i wouldnt guess any more then a couple hp and there definatly wont be a noticable difference in the "seat of the pants"....will you feel it?...thats subjective because the louder noise mixed with you expecting a change can make you think you feel them.....as for porting them..id leave them alone and just bolt them up...installation was a breeze (for me) and i dropped .3 in the 1/4 with them and picked up a few MPH...

for the price of used ones you cant beat it...

should be pretty close to stock but still louder. Just dont buy the mac catted y those cats will rob tons of power, like at least 10 horsepower.

yes i would port the mids it will only take a little bit of time and if you can free up another 3-5 horsepower i would do it. Just like a ported and polished throttlebody it is not a lot of power but worth the effort.
