Default what to do 5.3 swap

ok so im building a turbo setup for my 67 nova...

i was thinking ill buy the 5.3 cause
1. has lower c/r than a ls1
2. people have made 600+ rwhp on stock block.
3. its a 500 dollar block saves tons of cash. vs: 2500 ls1

problem im having

it wont clear my hood so ide have to swap
1> ls1 intake w fuel rails
2. all acessories iwater pump, and crank pully power steering , A/C
3. a ls1 oil pan
4. ls1 harness, computer

so after all those parts ide have to swap im starting to think im not saving any money which is the main point plus ide be gaining weight loosing cu/in with the iron block and have alot of stuff to deal with trying to piece it together when i could just buy a 4000.00 swap with ecu,6 speed, hyd parts, ready to be wired in .........

why are people swaping these 5.3 and 6.0 motors when the acessories run so much??? there has to be a positive or a cheaper way to get all those front acessories that is my whole hump

my brother is thinking about doing the same thing in his 69 camaro. the difference is the fact that with the 5.3 you can drop a cam in there with the ls1 intake and you would be at about 400hp. with the ls1 you will be at 300 stock and after you spend the extra money then you will be at 400. plus the 5.3 will be better to throw a magna/turbo on.

from the way i look at it it will be much cheaper as long as you get a good deal on the pcm and wiring/ tranny

Pretty sure The truck intake flows better than an LS1 intake- LS6 would be an upgrade-
Get a newer body style water pump with the front outlet, relocate the idler pulley, and everything else can stay from the truck- Keep an eye out and you can get a drop out motor with PCM for under $1k. Guys pull them all the time to swap to a 6.0 in the truck section. I have a buddy right now with one w/o a pcm for $500

Going to need a tune either way- Lower compression, Timing, Fuel...
I think the 2000+ take a dif style ecm harness than the F-body- I know my 99 5.3 is the same as my 01 LS1
