mass air sensor screen

is it worth taking the screen out of the stock mass air flow .I heard you can really tell the differance

Not worth it. Most will also port the MAF, but it is highly advised that you get retuned to keep from running leaner, which may cause issues as well.

The only purpose of the screen is/was to straighten out the air going into the MAF thereby minimizing false airflow readings. On LS1 cars with straight intakes the screen isn't required. You may need to update the tune a bit.
GM in 02'...used factory de-screened MAF's on the Z06. It's a free Mod!!
Combine it with a ported TB and you will see results.

GM has spend thousands of dollars on the MAF design. I dont know why people like mess with them. There is no need to get a after market one cause the stock it just as good. But thats just my opinion
