You can run a CAI with the ghetto ram air from under like the dudes with lids to. Just put the stock bottom box on and cut it like you would with the normal lid and just leave the FIPK filter there. Vuala!
the K&N setup isn't as effective on the z28/ss style hoods as it is on the T/A hoods due to the air inlet locations.
but the K&N is better than the stock lid, and probably on par with an aftermarket lid setup.
if it looks fine and opperates as it is supposed to there really isn't a reason to change other than for visual affect.
basically you're better off spending your money elsewhere for now.
