Default Cam or Headers or Nitrous

Trying to decide which i want to do first.

Cam would probably add the most power all the time, but car would go the fastest on nitrous.

The car already has catback exhaust on it, which would sound like *** once i got headers so i would have to do true duals.

If i go cam i want to do it right, with springs and timing chain and such.

If i do nitrous, i also wana do it right with the HSW interface and a fuel pump.

Whats your opinions.

800 isnt enough for a cam/install/tune and you need all the supporting mods esp. headers when doin a cam othewise you will be very disapointed....you could get a decent nitrous kit with that but IMO headers/exhaust is the best way to go!

but like i said before if you do the cam before the proper mods ie: headers, exhaust, intake, yada yada you will kick yourself! youd be lucky to make the same hp with cam and NO headers that you would with headers.....trust me, do it right the first time and youll thank yourself

K

Was just trying to determine if JUST headers, or JUST a cam would be more power. I plan on doing both within the next couple months, just trying to determine which to do first.

1) Headers....cars don't sound bad with catback systems if your running cats after the headers and/or have a decent system. True duals will get more attention from the Police.

2) Cam...supporting mods are a must....Hardened pushrods, upgraded springs & timing chain (as you stated), consider better lifters( depending on the cam) possibly heads.

3) Nitrous....limited (shot wise) by engine durability (forged vs non-forged), exhaust valves, pistons etc. otherwise good bang for the buck.

Tuning should probably be done with all of them, which you have handled already.

I would do LTs. 800 bucks can get you either some pacesetters and TSP TDs or ORY and cutout easily.

Im never doing the ORY again. Back in the day when i was doing bolt ons to my z28, i put macs and an ORY on my car and took the ORY off within a week and had to put true duals on it.

I dont have to worry about emisions here in indiana, so true duals are the way to go.

Nitrous doesn't care

I think im gona go for a decent size shot, just to get the bang for the buck out of my system, and hopefully some 11 second passes. After that i will slowly improve it from there. Hopefully to where it will eventually do 11s on motor and spray into the mid 10's.

id go headers and true duals, then depending on DD or not then i would can it or spray it, the cam isn't at full potential unless the motor can "eat & ****".....spray is good but the bottle does empty out and if you don't know what your doing(not to say you don't) your phucked

OP i assume your talking about putting this on your '99? If so the car has some nice basic mods. and i think a well done 150 or 175 shot would make that a really fun/budget friendly car to drive. excepcially if its a dd!
