Default Kooks headers w/ QTP ORY

Will my kooks headers work with my QTP ORY? The reason I want to try and do this is my current kooks Y pipe has cats. I have a perfectly good QTP ORY sitting in my shed.

So you want to take off a stainless steel Y pipe and put on a crappy fitting mufflex aluminized steel/rust bucket Y instead?

Unbelievable - especially since your only loosing 2 or 3 HP running the cats...

HP isnt really that big of a deal to me, I have plenty in my trans am. Im unhappy with the way the car sounds and I figure its either the cats or the magnaflow. Welded to the qtp ory is a 4" stainless cutout and a flowmaster catback with polished corsa clones or something. This car is more about looks and sound then being able to run 12.8 or 12.6

You can prolly modify it but it will not bolt up because they exit in different places and are prolly at slightly different angles (not explained good). I have read on here though some guys modding there Kooks to fit a QTP so anything is possible.

The QTP ory won't be long enough. When I modified my Kooks ory to fit my QTP headers, I had to shorten the y-pipe. Reason is the collectors for the QTPs are farther back than the Kooks. Also, the angle of the pass side collectors are different.

Thanks guys, I decided to just cut the flowmaster off of the the QTP Y and weld it to my kooks Y. I don't think I will be needing a 4" cutout on a 224 cam setup. I might gut the cats too.

Why not just gut the cats on the Kooks Y?

Did you actually do this? I've been looking at adding a Flowmaster merge to my Kooks Y.

Thinking about options.
I know the Kooks Y merge isn't all that efficient, especially when comparing with the quality of their headers, so was looking at my options. I figured it may help clean up some cabin drone.
