Air Lid Question Help guys

Default Air Lid Question Help guys

you guys know more than me well this weekend im looking to replace the stock Air Lid Box the Bellow and MAF now just yesterday i read article about doin the swap on 2000 and newer F-Bodies well ther was sometin that threw me off they wher talkin about when u remove the stock box and place in the aftermarket u need to plugg the 3/4 hose thats connected to the stock Air Lid and plugg it in with a filter now does that hose go back in where it originally was or where will it go and does it already have a filter or do i need to purchase one at my local shop
also and as far as the grommet do i use the stock one on my new lid will it fit or do i also need to purchase it
any info will help thanks

The hose will go in same place on the new lid!!You shouldnt have any problems its a simple swap and doesnt take very long at all!!

I did the same swap a while back. The hose you're talking about connects down to the radiator right? The reason you generally have to put a filter on that is the new lid won't have a place to connect the hose. The stock setup utilizes your big filter to also filter the air into that tube. So just slap a small filter in there, a small clamp to hold it and ziptie it to something or wire it down so it doesn't move at all. The grommet can be removed from the stock lid and moved over. I did that cause I'm cheap. The new grommet is something like $15 i think. It just takes a little work to get it out and back in the new lid.

If you buy the lid from them they throw in the small filter and will include a brand new sensor and grommet for $20.
