Default ls6 intake fitment

Has anyone ran into problems with fitment problems on a ls6 intake. I went to put mine on and it wouldnt go down. I could get the front seated and them looked at the back and the rear holes on the intake are to far back and wont go into the holes in the head. I tried my stock ls1 intake and it droped right on. I took both of them and measured the distance front end to end on the bolt holes on each side. ls1 intake was 16 1/16 and the ls6 was 16 1/8. Ive tried everything, it wont even begin to go.

It should go in fairly easily, did you grind the ribs off the bottom? Mine slid right in. Is it getting caught on anything?

theres a coolant vapor vent tube that connects the front of the head to the rear of the head. the ls6 intake has a bulkier bottom side and thats hitting the tube. you're going to have to grind or somehow remove the ribs from the bottom like motoo stated.

Hey the motor is on a engine stand. The valley cover and cooling lines arnt on yet. I thought the valley cover was hanging it up so i took it off. Its as if the holes are to far apart. I can get the front seated put the back is to far back.

Weird......

Same thing happened to me. Once I started tightening the back bolts the intake began to get seated.
