car starting issue
car starting issue Ive had this problem for about a year but its getting worse and makes me want to throw up. Sometimes when you go to start the car it will click but nothing happens. Just "click". When this happens all power to the car is lost...even if you simply release the key so its in accesory it will remain powerless for an unlimited amount of time. Locks dont work either when this happens. All dashlights go out, trip meter resets, radio settings gone...not even the dome light will turn on..NOTHING! Its just like trying to start with no battery.
The other day I was trying to go to work and this happened. I got pissed and slammed the door and the dome light came on. Then I figured out it had something to do with the door...If I try to start and loose all power I only have to open and close the door while the key is in accessory and all the lights come back on the dash and I can try again. At least I know how to kind of get it so Im not stranded.
Sometimes it works first time...other days it takes 6, 8, or up to 10 times to get it to work. The real problem is loosing my computer settings. Im sure Im getting the wrost gas mileage ever everytime I drive with new settings. It has something to do with the door so what can it be? Is there some kind of security feature with the door. HELP
