? about replacing header gaskets
? about replacing header gaskets I installed a new set of longtubes on my car and reused the f*$%ing percy's aluminum gaskets and now I have an exhaust leak at the head. Will I have a problem getting the headers to line back up if I just unbolt them, replace the gasket and try to bolt them back up? Thanks

I went through the same BS. Thought I was doing the right thing by using the Percy's seal-4-good gaskets last year with the new Kooks, but they arent so great afterall.
I ended up swapping them out with the GM OEM ones last month. I used Part #12589226, not sure what the diff is from the one listed at maryland speed, they seem to be the simular.
Anyway like stated, loosed the clamp at the collector or y-pipe, you'll need to be able to rotate the header some. My drivers side wasnt too bad, pass side sucked becuase of bolt #8 in the back did not want to come out. (did I mention it didn't want to come out!). Once that sucker was out, it was an equal struggled to get that same bolt hole (a new bolt, various new bolts) started.
Eventually I won, but damn.
No leaks now, and I'm thrilled with it all!
