What do you think of this intake set up for me?
My car is a heads / cam / full exhaust LS1.
I have a 98' LS1 intake on it with a home ported TB.
This is what I came up for an intake set up: (all new parts)
BBK intake manifold (has 85mm opening) $400
Perf Products 85 MM TB $160
85mm MAF and harness $80
Total $640
So for less than $650 I would have a 85/85 set up. Do you think that would be a good horsepower per dollar gain for me?
OR
Should I just get a used LS6 intake for $300????

i am going to be buying a 85mm LId and 85mm MAF. Next i will get 42# injectors. then spring time it will be a FAST 92/92 combo for me...

334?? That seems very low to me. I am putting down 346 to the wheels and I am still on the stock LS1 intake and stock throttle body and stock pulley. I wonder why his numbers were so low.
His numbers are quite good actually. It's the auto & the 4.10's that cause his numbers to be less than yours. That's why dynos are for tuning & not talkin'.
Used aluminum Weiand for $200-$300 off e-bay. Open the intake's TB port to 85mm & clean up the internal runners. Also, check Summit for the 85mm TB. I don't recall their price, but remember it to be lower than all others. Stick w/ the stock MAF until you can pay for a tune. The 85mm MAF table should be re-scaled & then checked to see whether or not you run out of frequency. If the 85mm MAf runs out of frequency, then the tuner will need to confirm that the VE tables from the RPM where frequency ends, on up, are correct for WOT fueling.
Another option is to buy an 85mm MAF that has added frequency. I recall a sponsor selling one. Don't remember for sure; might be SLP. This could save you a tune.....maybe. Speak w/ the vendor to make sure. Good-luck & you're on the right track with your plan.
