What is a cutout and how is it used?
I cutout is a fairly priced exhaust component that some of us use instead of replacing the entire stock catback. Not expensive at all but can get annoying depending on your taste. Lastly this thread should be moved to its proper place. Next time use the search button it actually works!

A cutout is literally what it says, a cut - out.
You cut a hole in the exhaust, but you weld another piece on and have a flange and can choose open or closed. It will either run out the hole if open, or out through the rest of your exhaust set up; so it's either really nice and loud, or normal and muffled if desired.
There's electrical and manual, and about $175 for a new electrical one.
